SLASA Awards & OECS After-Party

Dear All:

We will host a combination OECS "After-Party" and SLASA Annual Awards Night on Saturday 5th February from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the St. Lucia Yacht Club on Reduit Beach. This will be a much less formal event than we have had on previous occasions, more of a celebration/Beach Party. We will start with the presentation of the swimmers awards, and coaches certificates from the FINA course, then move quickly into party mode. Some simple snacks will be provided, with soft drinks for the kids and a pay-bar for the adults. Bottled water will be available at no cost, other drinks can be purchased at the bar.

Be very pleased if you could spread the word, we would really like to see as many of the OECS swimmers as possible, as well as the athletes and parents who helped by volunteering their time to make the meet so successful.

There will be no formal invitations sent out this year, this is it!

Kind regards,

Joyce

Message from Tom

Hello everyone,

I hope and pray that the new year finds you refreshed and ready!

Just a reminder that swim training starts this Tuesday even though I know school doesn't start for many until Wednesday.

Please make sure to check out our website and blog for un to date information on our swim club.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who swam in the swim meet. You all did great!

Just a couple of reminders...
-The next couple of months are chilly. Make sure ot send along a warm towel. The children might want to wear a swim shirt or t-shirt during practice to stay warm.
-Remember to pay your swim fees BEFORE the month begins.
-No refunds for sick days.
-If your child wants to take a break from swimming, let me know.

Just to give you an idea of our upcoming training, it is going to look like this.

LEVEL 1

We will be working on the basics to each stroke.
January - Breath Control
February - Balance
March - Sculling
April - Rhythm

May and June will focus on the three competitive strokes that we will be dealing with - freestyle, breast stroke and back stroke.

LEVEL 2

We will be covering the basics for the four competitive strokes in the next four months.

January - Freestyle or Breast stroke
February - Freestyle or Breast Stroke
March - Back stroke
April - Introduction to Fly

May and June will be reviewing the strokes and working on competitive aspects to each one.

Thanks everyone!
